Continuing a program started by the late AC Jaime of the South Texas Walking Club in 2006, the USA Race Walking Foundation will be hosting the 2024 Emerging Elite Race Walking Camp at YMCA Camp Surf in Imperial Beach, CA from 12/30/24-1/5/25.
The following Emerging Elite athletes will be lead by Olympians Tim & Rachel Seaman, and other guest clinicians, for a week of focused training to bridge the gap from national to international competition levels.
13 athletes from 8 states were selected to participate from the applications submitted. Almost every attendee has been an All-American in either the Junior Olympics, High School Nationals, NAIA Nationals or USATF U20 Championships.
In addition to training, athletes will learn about physiology, biomechanics, training theory, nutrition and racing strategies. This will prepare them to advance their athletic careers to be competitive on the international stage.
