Officials Update
- 2026 RW Officials Selection – Applications will be posted on the USATF Race Walk Committee website starting September 15, and will close on October 20, 2025.
- World Athletics Bronze RW Judge Candidate Applications – The USATF RW WARECS Task Force is seeking candidates for the WA Bronze RW Judge testing and certification on December 6, 2025.
- Application period: August 15 – September 15, 2025 (closes at 11:59 pm PT)
- Criteria and application: USATF Race Walk Committee website – WA Bronze RW Judge Candidates
- To be added to the USATF RW Officials Database and receive notices/updates, email the USATF RW Officials Subcommittee at racewalkofficials@gmail.com.
2025 Award Nominations
Captain Mike Riban
In preparation for the USATF Annual Meeting, we are calling for nominations for the 2025 Captain Mike Riban Individual Contributor Award and Outstanding Association Award.
- As this is a new quad, all previous nominations must be resubmitted (they will not roll over).
- Anyone involved in racewalking may submit nominations. Voting is limited to Association RW Chairs, National Committee Elected Officers, National Team Athletes, and past Mike Riban Individual Honorees.
Award Descriptions:
- Individual Contributor Award – The committee’s top honor for long-term contributions to USATF Race Walking. This is a lifetime award given only once to an individual, recognizing cumulative impact beyond a single year.
- Outstanding Association Award – Recognizes an association for excellent service to Race Walking during the year, with consideration for longer-term contributions. Associations may receive this award multiple times.
Deadline: Sunday, September 15, 2025

- Or email your nomination(s) with supporting explanation to:

Include:
- The nominee or association name

Lori Maynard Award (Outstanding Race Walk Official)
The USATF Officials Committee is seeking nominations for the 2025 Lori Maynard Award. The Lori Maynard Award goes to an official who best exemplifies the qualities of Lori Maynard; the qualities of a truly dedicated race walk official, organizer and administrator.
Criteria for Nomination
- A Master Level Official in good standing with the association in which they are certified; with the National Officials Committee; and with USATF
- A certified race walk official for at least ten years
- Recognized by peers for excellence and achievement by an race walk official who has given of them self for years across the country by serving as a race walk judge, a race walk official, or a race walk meet organizer or administrator, and going out of their way to help in the development of race walking officials in USATF
- Members of the Officials Hall of Fame are not eligible
