USATF Racewalk Annual Meeting Minutes and Updates

Hello USATF Racewalk Community,

I hope this email finds you well and that you’re looking forward to spending the holiday season with family and friends!

First, we’re excited to announce the launch of our new committee website: usatf.racewalk.com. The site is packed with valuable information about officials, standards, coaching education, and much more. Additionally, all executive committee minutes will be posted after approval, so you can stay up to date throughout the year. Thank you to Jeff Salvage for allowing us a corner of his racewalk.com platform and to Michael Roth for spearheading this effort to ensure everyone has access to the most up to date information.

A huge thank you also goes out to everyone who attended our general session at the USATF Annual Meeting in Orlando two weeks ago. Your engagement, patience, and input are invaluable as we prepare for success in the LA 2028 Olympiad. Attached, you’ll find the meeting minutes (in Documents) and the committee-approved standards (in Athletes) for 2025. The minutes will remain DRAFT until we vote to approve at the 2025 annual meeting.

For those unable to join the meeting, we elected members for the executive committee of the new quad. Here are your new executive committee members:

Congratulations to Our Newest World Athletics Officials!
We’re thrilled to recognize the dedication and achievement of our newly certified World Athletics Gold and Bronze level officials:

  • Gold Level: Jeff Salvage, Solomiya Login, Reggie Weissglas
  • Bronze Level: Ed Richardson, Jo Burrows, Marie Vermeer, Roger Hall

Thank you for your hard work, commitment, and for setting a high standard for race walking in the U.S. and globally. The full list of current WA officials can be found (in Officials) on our new website!

Millrose Games and Penn Relays

Thanks to Solomiya Login, Jeff Salvage, and countless others, the racewalks are once again part of the historic Millrose Games and Penn Relays. Meet information and entry form for the Penn Relays is included (on Calendar), with Millrose expected in the next couple of days. Once published it will be posted under calendar on our new website, as well as on social media outlets for USA Racewalking

Thank you all for your dedication and passion for race walking. Together, we’re building an even brighter future for our sport.

Coaching Education

Ian Whatley and others have spent numerous hours preparing “Coaching Racewalking”, which will be available on USATF Campus very soon! This course will be available to all coaches to help encourage them to take on more racewalkers and grow our community. This will be a fantastic resource as we grow our event to LA 2028 and beyond!

Social Media

Good sources to stay up to date in the racewalk community. These are not run or monitored by our executive committee, but are often used for announcements, results, etc from around the country.
