See next page for what’s new…and why. \nSunday\, May 03\, 2026 Terry Fox Stadium\, Mooney’s Bay\, Ottawa \nThe Stadium has an eight-lane 400m track (Mondo). Changing and shower facilities. Free parking. \nSchedule: 1000: “Quarter Hour” (15 minutes) (Athletes of Junior Age or younger) 1030: “Bytown One Hour” (mixed; open\, Common Sense Judging (CSJ) Rules\, attached) 1200: “Canadian One Hour” (mixed\, AO sanctioned\, World Athletics (WA) judging \nDepending on the entries received\, we reserve the right either to “seed” the One Hour races by time\, with CSJ and WA judging in both\, or to combine the two races into one at 1200. The faster athletes competing under WA rules will compete at 1200. We also reserve the right to combine “Quarter Hour” competitors with the “Bytown One Hour” race. We will announce the final sections and race times by noon (ET) on Wednesday\, April 29. \nWhat’s a “One Hour”? One of Athletics’ heritage events. You walk as far as you can in exactly One Hour. Time announced at 20\, 40\, 55\, and 59 minutes (and at 14 minutes for the Quarter Hour). Your lap counter will give you a marker as you enter your last laps. When the race ends\, drop your marker at the point you have reached. This point is measured and added to the number of full laps completed to determine your final distance. Unofficial splits provided for each 400m lap and at 5km. Official times at 10km. \nCan I go further than One Hour? If you pass 9600m in One Hour\, you may continue to 10000m and get an official time. But it is a One Hour race\, so everyone must drop their marker at 60:00. \nPost-race Awards Reception: 1330\, adjacent to the track. \nEntry: Deadline: Tuesday\, April 28\, 2026; 1600 (ET). No Day of Race Registration. Fee: $30.00 ($5.00 for the “Quarter Hour”). Please e-mail entries to roger@bytownwalkers.ca. Subject line “One Hour 2026 Entry”. Include name\, address\, phone number and date of birth. Your entry will be confirmed by email. A completed form and waiver will be ready for your signature. \nIn your entry\, please also indicate if you are attempting a provincial or national record (open or masters) at 10000m. We can arrange to have the required “stopped watches” only if we know about your record attempt before finish line officials are assigned. We would prefer you to pay the fee by e-transfer to treasurer@bytownwalkers.ca. \nAccommodation: The area is not well served by hotels. Address: 2960 Riverside Drive. If you arrive from outside Ottawa from the east\, west or south\, you will likely be on Highway 417. Take exit 117 (Vanier Parkway/Riverside Drive) and turn south. Just follow Riverside Drive (regional road 19) for about 5km. After you cross Hog’s Back Road\, you will see the track to your right; turn into the parking lot at the next lights. From Gatineau and the north\, take the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge (autoroute 5) into Ottawa\, locate Vanier Parkway/Riverside Drive via any convenient route\, and follow Riverside Dr. to the track (details above).

SUMMARY:2026 Podebrady Gold Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Half Marathon & U20 10 km \nCompetition opportunity: We have for funding for three athletes to the racewalk tour event in Podebrady on May 8th. We will be funding up to 3 male and 3 female athletes through reimbursements up to $2000. Plus partial funding available for other athletes who may want to travel to the race. \nThe selection criteria for the top three spots is:\nTop 3 WA performance scores between 1/1/26 and 3/8/26\nAll scoring distances count.\nWA Performance Score Minimum:\nOpen Athletes: 950\nU20 Athletes: 850 \nPartial funding can be considered for any athlete who wishes to race in Podebrady and achieves these minimum scores through 4/25. \nNote: This is a funding only opportunity. Two support staff will be on the ground to help with aid and other logistics regarding the race\, but athletes must arrange their own travel. \nYou are encouraged to start making your flight arrangements to Podebrady via Prague airport (PRG).
