With race starts of 11:43 am (Women) and 1:32 pm (Men) on Feb 1, the top US Race Walkers will be competing at The Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory to be crowned the national champion over the 1 Mile distance. The 10 women will be lead by Lauren Harris with Maria Michta-Coffey, Heather Durrant, Angelina Colon, Ruby Ray and Gianna Mauri expected to battle for the top 6 places. The baker’s dozen of men will follow Nick Christie around the oval. Expected challengers will be Jordan Crawford, Jason Cherng, Dylan Melichiore, Cole Bennett and Ian Britt for a medal spot. $4000 of prize money will be distributed equally between each race. Funding for the event is courtesy of William Pollinger and the Fast Walker group.
